ANKARA- On the 286th day of the protest called, “We want our jobs back” at Ankara’s Yüksel Avenue, the police attacked the protesters again, the protesters reacted to the police and said, “Your friends were dismissed from their posts, one day you will be also dismissed and no one will stand by you.”
Hunger strike launched by Nuriye Gülmen and Semih Özakça,who were removed from their posts by an emergency decree and forcibly taken to Sincan Prison’s Campus Hospital, has entered in the 166th day and the protest called “We want our jobs back”started by public employees at Ankara’s Yüksel Avenue has entered in the 286th day.
Police attacked the protesters, who gathered at Konur Street to make a statement in front of the Human Rights Monument. The protesters wanted to make the statement in front of the police shields and they unfurled the banners reading, “Release Nazife Onay”, “Nuriye and Semih should be reinstated” and they shouted the slogans, “Nuriye and Semih are our honor”, “We are the laborer, we will win”
The police teared the banner, and dragged them on the ground until the end of the Konur Street. The protesters continued to shout the slogans . Meantime, people supported the protestors by applauding and the police took their videos.
‘You will be dismissed from your posts!’
The protesters reacted to the police attacks by shouting slogans, “Our friends were dismissed from their posts, we stand by them, one day you will be also dismissed from your posts, but nobody will stand by you. All of you are thief.”
