Political prisoners to launch a hunger strike for Nuriye and Semih

ISTANBUL – Political prisoners have announced that they will launch a hunger strike for Nuriye Gülmen and Semih Özakça, who are on the hunger strike for 129 days.

Deniz Kaya makes a statement on behalf of PKK (Kurdistan Worker’s Party) and PAJK (Kurdistan Women’s Liberation Party) prisoners. On the anniversary of ‘attempted coup’, the prisoners make a statement regarding Nuriye Gülmen and Semih Özakça, who are on the hunger strike for 129 days. The statement is as follows;

“That’s an irony of history, the revolutionist and laborers took a stand against FETÖ (Gülenist Organization) are under attacks under the name of fighting against FETÖ.

Standing up for Nuriye Gülmen and Semih Özakça’s action is the duty of every person with honor. These two honorable people defend all laborers’ struggle for right and law. We are standing up for Nuriye and Semih’s action; we see their action as our action, we support their action, our action. We will launch a three-day hunger strike with the participation of three people in each prison.”
