Police raid the home of journalist who documented Kemal Kurkut’s killing

DİYARBAKIR – Police raided the home of journalist Abdurrahman Gök, who documented the murder of university student Kemal Kurkut at Newroz celebration in Diyarbakır.

Police raided the home of Dihaber Editor Abdurrahman Gök documented the murder by police of university student Kemal Kurkut at Newroz celebration in Diyarbakır on March 21. Abdurrahman wasn’t at home during the house raid and the police conducted a detailed search in the home located in the Bağlar district of Diyarbakır. Police seized two mobile phone and four books of Abdurrahman and examined Abdurrahman’s camera in the home.

Police told Abdurrahman’s flat mates that the investigation was an Ankara-based and Abdurrahman must go to anti-terror police department to testify or an arrest warrant would be issued against him.

Abdurrahman Gök went to Diyarbakır Courthouse with his lawyers on March 29 and bore testimony to the Public Prosecution Office. Upon the demand of the Prosecutor, Abdurrahman gave 26 photographs to the Public Prosecution Office.
