30 women killed, one woman protected herself!
The AKP’s violence and its war policies that fuel the clashes put women’s lives in great danger. While the women have lost their lives due to the state authorities’ legitimate discourse on violence, the state authorities’ sexist discourses affect the women in the streets, at home, at work and everywhere and they are subjected to harassment, sexual assault and violence. The AKP government has ruled Turkey for 14 years and during these years, more than 6,000 women were killed. In the second month of 2017, men killed 30 women. One woman acted in self-defense against the man inflicted violence against her and protected her life. And in February, 22 women were subjected to sexual violence.
16 children abused!
In February, 16 children were subjected to sexual abuse. State forces caused two children died.
In the first month of 2017, men killed at least 56 women, sexually abused 24 children and inflicted violence on 43 women.
