‘We must raise the struggle, destroy the walls against fascism’

ISTANBUL- “We should know that there is no alternative or chance except for breaking the walls and chains and struggling against the mindset that turns Turkey into an open prison,” emphasized the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-chair Sebahat Tuncel, who is in Silivri Prison.

Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-chair Sebahat Tuncel, who was detained while protesting the arrest of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) MPs, sent a letter from Silivri No 9 Closed Prison, where she has been for 61 days.

Sabahat stated that they would advocate peace stubbornly and persistently against those who has imposed war, conflict and slavery for their own power and said that they would never take step back from fighting for peaceful future. Sabahat said, “The sovereigns tell us ‘you will never succeed’ and they apply all kinds of tricks and games in order to destroy our hopes. We should tell them that; ‘you will be never and ever successful. The freedom and hope are not a passing fancy for us they are the meaning of life. We will grow our hope with enthusiastically every day in order to win the life and we will win.”

‘We will make freedom and peace true’

“We should know that there is no alternative or chance except for breaking the walls and chains and struggling against the mindset that turns Turkey into an open prison,” emphasized Sebahat Tuncel and stated that the  difficult days would be left behind by raising the solidarity network. Sebahat underlined that they would take the wind out of the ruling power’s sails and they wouldn’t give passage to fascism. Sebahat said, “I send my greetings and love to all of you. We will make democracy, freedom and peace true by raising our hope in factories, fields, lessons and wherever we are.”
