Solidarity activity for academics

ANKARA- Prof.Dr Gülay Toksöz and Prof.Dr. Alev Özkazanç, who have been indicted for signing a petition titled, “We will not be a party to this crime”, have been forced retirement. Their students and faculty members organized a solidarity activity for them.

The Faculty of Political Sciences of Ankara University, which has been the most affected by the oppression intensifying over the last two years towards universities, hosted a very important event yesterday. Prof.Dr Gülay Toksöz and Prof.Dr. Alev Özkazanç who have been indicted for signing a petition titled, “We will not be a party to this crime”, have been forced retirement. Their students and faculty members came together for them. Prof. Dr. Ayhan Yalçınkaya, Head of the Department of Political Science and Social Sciences, gave the first speech said the attacks on their faculty intensified particularly in the last two years and listed the investigations and what was going on in two years.

Prof.Dr Gülay Toksöz and Prof.Dr. Alev Özkazanç spoke after the speeches and explained the processes and their appreciations that caused them to retire.
