NEWS CENTER- Imprisoned female politicians sent their greetings to “all women who resist” from Kandıra Prison.
Ayla Akat Ata, Spokesperson of the closed Free Women’s Congress (KJA) and former representative, Figen Yüksekdağ, Co-chair of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), Gülser Yıldırım, the HDP Diyarbakır MP and Gültan Kışanak, co-mayor of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality, took photographs in Kandıra Prison together. The photographs are among the most interesting ones on social media. The first message of the female politicians, who were arrested and sent to Kandıra Prison, was “resistance”. And again, they sent a message and they sent their greetings to “all women who resist”.

Gültan Kışanak was detained on October 25 and sent to jail on October 30. Ayla Akat, who protested the arrest of Gültan with the people, was detained on October 27 and sent to jail on October 30. Figen Yüksekdağ, Selma Irmak, Nursel Doğan, Leyla Birlik and Gülser Yıldırım were detained on November 3 in the operation launched against the HDP Co-chairs and MPs and sent to jail. Lastly, the HDP Diyarbakır MP and parliamentary group deputy chairperson Çağlar Demirel, the party’s Women’s Assembly spokesperson Besime Konca and the party’s vice Co-chair Aysel Tuğluk were jailed.
