Fatma Uyar’s mother Hatice Uyar imprisoned

ŞIRNAK- Hatice Uyar, mother of member of the KJA (Free Women’s Congress) Fatma Uyar, who was killed during curfew imposed in Silopi, has been imprisoned on charges of “being member of an [illegal] organization.”

On January 3, 2015, Democratic Regions (DBP) Parliamentary Assembly member Seve Demir, Silopi People’s Council Co-Chair Pakize Nayır and Free Women’s Congress (KJA) member Fatma Uyar were killed during the curfew imposed in Silopi district of Şırnak. Fatma Uyar’s mother, Hatice Uyar was taken into custody previous day. After two days in custody, Hatice was taken to the prosecutor’s office and then referred to the court for arrest on charges of “being member of an [illegal] organization”.

Hatice has been imprisoned by the court and she was sent to Şırnak T Type Closed Prison.
