İZMİR – Professor İştar Gözaydın has been imprisoned as part of the “FETÖ” investigation.
14 people were detained as part of the FETÖ/PDY (Fethullahist Terror Organization/Parallel State Structure) Investigation launched into Gediz University from which she was suspended. Proffesor İştar Gözaydın, former the head of Sociology Department at Gediz University, was among the detained people. İştar Gözaydın has been imprisoned by the court.
Who is İştar Gözaydın?
İştar Gözaydın was born in 1959, Istanbul. She was graduated from Üsküdar American Academy for Girls in 1977 and from Faculty of Law at Istanbul University in 1981. In 1982, she became research assistant of administrative law and politics in the same faculty. She was a Fulbright Program scholar in the U.S. in 1986-1987.
In 1986, after having certification program on United States legal system in Georgetown University International Law Institute, she did a master’s degree at the New York University. She has a doctoral degree from Faculty of Law at Istanbul University. İştar Gözaydın became an associate professor in 1997 and a professor in 2006.
